I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and give you the chance to get better acquainted with my clinical background.
I have spent the last 20 years studying Holistic Medicine. I received my Associates Degree in Clinical Therapeutic Massage from Heritage College in Kansas City, Missouri in 2006. After graduating, I moved to Chicago where I studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude from The Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. While there I received a Master's Of Science in Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor’s in Nutrition. In that program we studied not only Acupuncture, but Herbalism and Asian bodywork modalities like Cupping, Guasha and Tui Na.
Since Massage school I have extensively studied CranioSacral Therapy receiving over 200 hours continuing education in CranioSacral Therapy I, II & III, SomatoEmotional Release I & II, Pediatrics I and CranioSacral Therapy and the Immune Response. These were all 5 day intensives that never fail to be mind blowing experiences.
As far as bodywork goes, I have 34 hours of continuing education in Thai Massage from ThaiBodywork in Chicago and I have 48 hours in Vibrational Sound Therapy from The Vibrational Sound Association.
I have continued my studies in Chinese Herbal Therapy with 21 hours on the Foundations of Chinese Medicinal Herbology from Blue Poppy and 21 hours on the Classic Herbalist from the Association for Traditional Studies.
I have studied Archetype profiling with Caroline Myss and her Sacred Contracts Professional Certification, Medical Astrology from The School of Evolutionary Herbalism, The Power of Shamanic Journeying with Sandra Ingerman, a 7-Week Ayurvedic Herbal Detox Program with K.P. Khalsa, Balancing Human Hormones with Dr. Janet Lang and a 7-Week Holistic Hormone Workshop with Dr. Afrouz Demeri.
Less formally over the past 4 years I have immersed myself in the study of Astrology and Human Design which I feel has just taken everything to a new level. As you can see I am a bit of a learning junkie, but there are just so many different approaches to healing the body, mind and spirit that you can take. I just love experiencing other peoples approaches.
Now after all of that, you might want to know why I chose The Witch Dr.® for my business name. Well, it was one of those things that chose me rather than me choosing it. I do a lot of very “unorthodox” treatments, meaning the incorporation of the intuitive nature of my sessions. So, when you combine that with the way I love to formulate herbal remedies from Eastern and Western herbs, my patients started calling me The Witch Dr.®.
It was kind of strange at first when people who didn’t even know each other started calling me that, but after awhile it just stuck. This new platform is more than anything a tribute to all of the beautiful souls that I have encountered over the last 20 years. People that are dear to my heart and I now consider family. I hope as you look over all that there is to offer in my Apothecary that you might find yourself becoming part of The Witch Dr.® family too.
Be The Magick!
Stacey
